Placement test
To study at Heritage, students to be admitted to grades 2 to 8 will take an academic placement test (first grade learners are exempt). The test is free of charge and includes two tests – language (Russian or Romanian) and mathematics (for the graduate level). All applicants are to provide copies of their recent academic records before the placement test.
Assessment of English language skills
Additionally, all candidates (grades 1-8) will be assessed to determine their level of understanding and use of the English language, if this is not their native language. Heritage has adopted the widely accepted WIDA learning and assessment model, which assesses the learner’s specific skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking. Students who have not previously studied English will be accepted for the placement test and will receive language development support through the Intensive English Unit until their proficiency level will meet the expectations of the programme.
What do Heritage learners study
Heritage International School was approved as a Cambridge School by Cambridge Assessment International Education (Cambridge International) and currently offers Cambridge International Primary and Secondary Education. The Curriculum of the International Heritage School represents a visionary approach to the learning process, combining the national curriculum with the International Primary Curriculum (in primary classes) and the Cambridge International curriculum. Thus, on graduation, students will obtain both the Bachelor's degree and the Cambridge qualifications, required by the world's top universities.
Apart from the academic program, extracurricular activities occupy an important place in the educational process at Heritage. Clubs from the areas of education, sport and the arts for all levels are held in the second part of the day, most of them free of charge. These include: languages and club for volunteers; volleyball, basketball, football and other sports games; dramatic art, music and school band, dance, voice interpretation and many more.
