Heritage International School reconfirms its status as a socially responsible institution. During the winter holidays, under the umbrella of the “GO Heritage” Program, the school held the “Kindness Fair” – a series of actions that bring joy to the entire Heritage Community (learners, parents, teachers and all members of the Heritage team), contributing to creating memorable moments for the extended community – Heritage friends who need support.
Inga Chiosa, interim director, Heritage International School: “At Heritage we believe that kindness is a skill that can be educated and developed. And what other moment of the year may be more appropriate than the winter holidays to be more kind with each other and the people around us? We design Heritage events so that they have a lasting impact on school culture, increasing positive behavior and the students’ academic success. Therefore, Heritage has strategically committed to become a socially responsible institution and to contribute to the development of society. For this season, we have planned the Kindness Fair as part of our “GO Heritage” Social Responsibility Program, so that together we can contribute to spreading kindness in our community. I want to give sincere thanks for support and involvement to the Heritage Community, thanks to which we have been able to carry out more charitable activities this year. We will continue to offer new opportunities for all those who have joined the Heritage mission to become a socially responsible institution, and let’s keep the same values in 2019!”
Surprises for children at the Auxiliary Boarding School in Bulboaca village Because kindness and social responsibility are part of the school’s core values, Heritage expressed them by organizing a real feast for the children at the auxiliary boarding school in the village of Bulboaca. The Heritage Community has made new friends there last year when it visited the school where 56 children from socially vulnerable families, that suffer from various conditions or have special needs study. As they promised, the Heritage Students’ Council, together with teachers, staff members, learners and parents, also visited the children this year in Bulboaca, where they presented a common festive program, sang, danced, participated in games and celebrated together.
Each Heritage learner has wholeheartedly prepared a “shoebox” present full of gifts for a Bulboaca child (books, school supplies, toys, sweets and anything else that could bring joy to the recipients of gifts), along with personalized greeting messages and the promise of a lasting friendship.
Eugeniu Buruian, director, Auxiliary Boarding School in Bulboaca village: “For children, such activities have a beneficial role: they facilitate socialization and helps them to experience new ways of communicating, which will contribute to their social inclusion in the future. On behalf of the school administration, I thank Heritage for the celebration they offered.”
Heritage “Make & Bake Sale” – tasteful charity The Heritage “Make & Bake Sale” event was the premiere of this year’s “GO Heritage” winter program. The learners and their parents were invited to bring souvenirs, hand-made items, homemade cookies and baked goods to sell them for charity. The proceeds have been deposited in the “GO Heritage” program fund and will be used for charity activities in 2019.
We proudly wear “GO Heritage” for charitable purposes Because Heritage members are very proud of the “GO Heritage” program, they can now show it and share it with the whole world. They wear “GO Heritage” bracelets, soft and colorful, in the colors of the school, which not only send the message that they are responsible and involved, but directly contribute to transforming the world into a better place. The bracelets are sold at a symbolic price, and all the proceeds are transferred to the “GO Heritage” Fund. Specifically, this is one of the fundraising methods for the Heritage Scholarship Program, which will be launched next year, allowing talented children to obtain scholarships and study at the only Cambridge School in the country – Heritage. The bracelets are meant for the Heritage Community: children, parents, teachers and Heritage staff, but also to the extended community – friends and all those who share Heritage values. They are made of harmless silicone and are safe to be worn by responsible citizens of all ages.
